  • Grid-Tied System- It generates power and helps in removing the day time dependency on grid, diesel or any other conventional source of energy, also reduces monthly electricity bills.
  • Off-Grid system- In this system, power produced through solar during the day time, can be further utilized as it is stored in the Battery Banks.
  • Net-Metering - Utilization of the extra power generated from Solar, by exporting it to grid and offsets against your monthly electricity bills. * Countries where policy lies.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF GRID CONNECTED SOLAR PV POWER PLANT

1. Solar PV Modules

The cells of the SPV modules shall be polycrystalline. The capacity shall be considered as per declared capacity in the published technical brochures of the proposed SPV module manufacturer.

Minimum number of PV Modules for Example as given below:

The PV modules conform to the relevant IEC 61215 or IS 14286 and IEC 61730 standards.
The proposed PV modules have Test Certificate issued by accredited test laboratories of MNRE, Government of India under JNNSM Program. The test certificates issued from IEC accredited laboratories will also be acceptable.

Performance warranty of SPV Modules

The manufacturer will warrant the output of solar Module (s) for at least 90% of its rated power after initial 12 years and 80% of its power after 25 years from the completion of trial run at site.

If module (s) fails to exhibit such power output in prescribed time span, the Contractor will either deliver additional PV module(s) to replace the missing power output with no change in area used or replace the PV modules(s).



SOLAR OFF-GRID/HYBRID SYSTEM -

General -

A Solar Off-Grid system is a system, when power produced through solar during the day time, can be further utilized as it is stored in the Battery Banks.
A Hybrid Solar Power Systems generate power in the same way as a common grid-tie solar system but use special hybrid inverters and batteries to store energy for later use. This ability to store energy enables most hybrid systems to also operate as a backup power supply during a blackout, similar to a UPS system.
Traditionally the term hybrid referred to two generation sources such as wind and solar but in the solar world the term 'hybrid' refers to a combination of solar and energy storage which is also connected to the electricity grid. Hence Hybrid systems are most commonly preferred for use in place of traditional stand-alone or off-grid systems.

3. Module Mounting Structure

During structural design following points shall include, but not limited to, the following.
  • The module mounting structure must be made of MS as per IS 8098 (latest edition).
  • The structure should be capable of withstanding a wind load of 150 km/hr after grouting & installation.
  • The array structure shall be made of hot dip galvanized MS structure.

4. PV Array Junction Box (AJB)

Array Junction Box (AJB) shall have to be used for termination of string prior to connecting array with each inverter. There shall be two nos. of Array Junction Box.

5. Grid-connected Inverter

The inverter shall be of string inverter type. The proposed grid connected solar PV power plant will have either min. 3 kVA 1ph or 5 kVA 3ph 1 no. Inverter, as per availability.

6. Grid interfacing LT Panel

Output of the Inverter shall be terminated to a Grid InterfacingLT Panel. All the equipment and meter display can only be accessed after opening the front doors.The front door will have locking arrangement.The grid line will also be connected to this panel.
